This library is fully dedicated to the remarkable nature of the Faroe Isalnds.
You will hear puffins and seabirds on the remote island of Mykines, large sea waves and spray hitting the cliffs, quiet lagoons, rain and mist around waterfalls, sheep on the hillsides, birds hidden in thick grass, insects, and distant gull calls. In a few recordings, I intentionally left in small traces of my own presence - footsteps on gravel, opening a metal gate, or moving along coastal paths - to give a listener a feeling of actually being there.
The collection is suitable for films, documentaries, games, and other projects that need the feeling of a remote northern landscape, solitude, space, and living nature.

In 2011, my girlfriend and I decided that one day we would visit the Faroe Islands. In 2024, our dream came true. We came here as a family with our son.
We spent two weeks travelling across the islands and recording at different times of day and in the constantly changing Atlantic weather. The nearly endless summer daylight helped a lot — there was hardly any real night, so recording could continue late into the evening.
Despite the open landscapes and small population, finding a truly isolated place was not always easy. Much of the countryside is used as private or communal grazing land, and access often follows established paths or requires permission from landowners. So a place that looks completely wild and empty on the map is not necessarily somewhere you can simply walk into and set up microphones.
